Since there's so many people having trouble with this mission (and because I had nothing better to do XP), I decided to find out a way to 'easily' do this mission using henchmen and Heroes only.
The guide can be used for the mission on both Normal and Hard Mode.

First of all, 'perfect' equipment for yourself and your Heroes is recommended.XD By perfect equipment I mean decent Rune and Insignia setup and a having a good weapon equiped.

Second, skill bars. I'm a Warrior myself, but I think you should just be fine as anything else, as long as you can make sure to have Wild Blow on yourself or one of your Heroes.
Anyway, this is what I was using:

Tahlkora as a basic Word of Healing Monk, Acolyte Sousuke with a Hydromancer build to annoy Shiro while capturing the Shrines of the Gods, and Master of Whispers with a basic Spoil Victor build.
The four henchmen I used were Mhenlo, Kihm, Odurra and Cynn.
A Customized weapon with Demonslaying is also recommended for the extra damage to Margonites, Demons and Titans.

Everthing till up to the part with the 5 Rifts shouldn't cause much problems.
At the Rifts, don't risk failure by taking on more than 2 other enemies when trying to close a Rift.
After the Rifts, try to lure the Lich Lord without aggroing Shiro Tagachi.=P Kill the Lich Lord at the gate, he should be piece of cake.
Then set Shiro Tagachi as Sousuke's target and disable his Vapor Blade. You might have to manually activate Deep Freeze and Blurred Vision sometimes. Well, capturing the Shrines should be easy, while waiting for the Shrine to activate just run around so the Heroes and henchmen don't start beating up Shiro.XD
After capturing the last Shrine, just start attacking Shiro. You probably have to manually activate Spoil Victor on him, because Master of Whispers doesn't seem to like that skill.=P
As Warrior, don't use any other skills, besides "Watch Yourself!" and Wild Blow, without his Battle Scars Shiro shouldn't be able to deal much damage to your team.;P

Now I forgot to take a screenshot of when I got Shiro down to around 1HP, but trust me, this really works.=D I hope this guide will be useful to the people who still need to do this mission and can't ever find a good party to do it with.

you'll need to watch out for cynn cause she might do a bit of damage to shiro powering up his medititation. i can hero/hench it with me, a war/ele with glads dolyak and armor of earth, olias sv necro, whispers ss necro, and tahl b light prot. at the end i just set up at the gate and beat shiro with me and heros.

the easiest way i found to do gate of maddness is. yes bring an SV necro, but a monk bonder, and the 3rd hero can either be Koss with Wild blow or if you have Zenmi (the assassin hero) with critical defense or if your a warrior or sin, an ele hero. Henchman the 2 monks, Cynn, and whatever other henchman you feel good with.
Basically the fast time i this mission was with my sin, the basic Morbise strike build with critical agility and critical defense and the bonds from your hero monk. Taking down shiro was a breeze, he hardly touched me and when he did, he only did about 14-20 damage.

Step 1. Make yourself into a 55 hp tank.
Step 2. Get an assortment of 20% enchantments -50, -20, 0, +30, +60 health items.
Step 3. Reach Shiro/Lich
Step 4. Kill Lich.
Step 5. Tank Shiro.
Step 6. Flag Hero/Hench onto the shrines using the minimap, change health accordingly when you get the +50 health bonus from Melandru.
Step 7. If N/ or /N, kill Shiro with SV. If not, use an SV hero set to passive to kill him for you.
Step 8. Pick up whatever crap Shiro drops quickly before the ending scene comes up.

I would add something else:

Whoever tanks Shiro will do much better by boosting his blocking than by boosting his armor. In my experience, an assasin is best for the role - Flashing blades provide constantly maintained 75% blocking.

True, but really anything with Wild Blow will do. Three Monks is enough to keep the tanker alive as long as you don't allow him to use Battle Scars.

I guess you dont know that most of people have a problem GETTING there. Shiro/Lich are piece of cake, Spoil Victor + Spiteful Spirit beats the hell out of Shiro.

I guess not... and most of the mobs on the way there suck too and can be tanked via 55.
